Are Wireless Viruses Looming?
http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,85403,00.asp This Article is about viruses that travel through wireless networks and devices. The point of it is rather straight forward: there are not that many now but there will be as standards in operating systems are formed and as more and more wireless devices are made and used in everyday life. The idea is that viruses have a hard time right now changing from one wireless device's operating system to another and on top of that wireless internet devices are relatively few and far between, but they are getting more popular and with a increase in numbers and cross platform coding such as Java, the viruses that travel through the wireless word will increase dramatically. However, experts do not think that they will be much worse then the viruses that plague the hard wire internet world. The anti-virus programs are already out there it is just a matter of getting people and corporations to put the software on their machines. I totally agree with this. I recently had a nasty virus called the Nimda virus on my new hard drive and had to go out and buy some software to combat it. If I ever get a wireless internet or mobile phone module for my Visor Handheld I will be sure to get some virus software to go with it, and I suggest that anyone with a device that attaches wirelessly to the internet to get one too. !
