The Visor Edge
The Visor Edge made by Handspring is one of the
top-of-the-line Handhelds on the market. It is .44 inches deep and a weighs only 4.8 oz. Like all visors, it works off
the Palm operating system and has a detachable Springboard slot which when
hooked on the back can receive Gameboy like “springboard modules” which fulfill
a certain function like a digital camera, modem, cell phone, or GPS System. It
has 8 mb hard drive and 33 mhz processor, “graffiti” handwriting software,
backlighting, and many other programs typically found with the Palm OS. It has
a rechargeable battery that last weeks with normal use and on top of all that,
it is only $199!
I would buy one but as I mentioned in another article I already have a visor handheld which I got for the same price two years ago. Hand held computers are getting cheap. The most expensive one Handspring makes now is the Treo 180 that cost $399. Not to long ago six or seven hundred dollars was not an unusual price for a hand held computer. I think when I bought my hand held the Edge was around $450.
