Systems study Report for “The Gilded Lilly”

The Gilded Lilly is a small Gift shop here in Abilene that sells rare and novel gift items native to places such as New York and homemade crafts native to Abilene and the surrounding area. They would like a web page that allows them to show pictures of products, tell where the store is, and generally let people know that they exist. In effect they want to have a real presence on the web but since it is a small business and has only one location, the funds available to get this presence is a modest one of four thousand dollars at the most.

Rescources in place:

Virtually none. None of the employees know how to build and design a web page or what they need to do to get one made.

Growth:

These resources (below) should fill the needs of The Gilded Lily for the foreseeable future since they do not want anything too fancy. However, it has been planned to review and asses the effectiveness of the website annually. Any upgrades in technology and their cost will be up for consideration then.

Support:

I recommend finding someone who knows their way around computers and web design that they can call for help if they get in a real rut if needs be.

Implementation:

The hardware and software and hardware should be bought as soon as possible. The idea is that they will teach themselves how to design web site in their spare time and then build the web site as soon as they can. They say that they rather not be dependent on others for the building and maintenance of the site.
