Of all the extracurricular school activities in the Taylor County Area, the three year old Bonehead club is by far the most unique. It gives public high school students the almost unheard of experience of working with actual Dinosaur material from the time the material is pulled from the ground until it is put on display at a Local museum.

The Bonehead Club contains within it students from three public high schools in as many school districts. Every week they get together and work on material, cleaning, fixing and casting fossilized bones which is painstaking work but is also a lot of fun! Every fall they go on a five day paleontological dig out in deep West Texas to gather more material to take back to Abilene to work on.
