What does T.I.P. mean? That is the mystery of the club. It has been suggested that Typical Indian Princesses is the solution of the mystery.
It could mean Tis Instituted Permanently, for it is understood that it is a lasting organization. Here's to the future of T.I.P. Maybe it means Try Investigating Puzzles.
- An exerpt from The Totem, 1926

T.I.P. was founded in 1925 by Grace Lee Cranston Brown. The symbol for T.I.P. is the anchor and the motto is "Smooth Sailing". T.I.P.'s colors are black and white and the flower is the gardenia. You will see the sailors during pledge season wearing their collars proud and ahoying or "popping" members as they see them.

"We have this hope as an anchor for our soul, steadfast and true." Hebrews 6:19
