Who uses what?
...of the Control Segment

There are several organizations, world-wide, that make up the Control segment that utilizes the GPS network. One of the primary users is, of course, the DoD. 7

2nd SOPS USAF The 2nd Space Operations Squadron, 50th Operations Group, 50th Space Wing, US Air Force orchestrates the data exchange among and maintains the NAVSTAR satellite system using five Monitor Stations located at Hawaii, Kwajalein, Ascension Island, Diego Garcia and Colorado Springs, three Ground Antennas at Ascension Island, Diego Garcia and Kwajalein, and a Master Control Station (MCS) located at Falcon AFB in Colorado.

Another organization among the users is the GRD/NOAA Operational Data Center (GODC). NOAA The GODC was established by the National Ocean Service (NOS) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for the installation and monitoring of permanent GPS tracking stations. GODC currently monitors 13 stations which are : (Gobal Tracking)-- Bermuda, -- Fortaleza, Brazil, -- Kellyville, Greenland, -- Richmond, Florida, -- Westford, Massachusetts, (CORS Tracking)-- Table Mountain, Colorado, (Chesapeake Bay Tracking) -- Annapolis, Maryland, -- Gloucester Point, -- Virginia,-- Horn Point, Maryland, -- Solomons Island, Maryland, -- Sterling, Virginia, -- Wachapreaque, Virginia, GODC -- Wallops Island, Virginia. Each of the stations have a four digit identifier that is used by others within the GPS community : Bermuda/BRMU; Fortaleza, Brazil/FORT; Gloucester Point, VA/GLPT; Kellyville, Greenland/KELY; Horn Point, MD/HNPT; Richmond, FL/RCM6; Solomons Island, VA/SOL1; Table Mountain, CO/TMGO; Annapolis, MD/USNA; Wachapreague, Global Tracking Network VA/VIMS; Wallops Island, VA/WLPS; Westford, MA/WES2 and Sterling, VA/STRL. The data collected from the 'Global Tracking network' is sent to the International GPS Service for Geodynamics (IGS) daily. These stations were established in support of an international cooperative effort for computing daily precise GPS orbits for geodynamic research. The "'CORS Tracking' station is a part of the Continuous 'Operating Reference System (CORS) Data Center of the National Geodetic Survey. And the 'Chesapeake Bay Tracking' stations are part of a partnership project with NASA for environmental studies.
One more organization is the International GPS Service for Geodynamics. The IGS network is made up of 191 ground tracking stations. (See IGS Tracking Network IGS Tracking Network)
